About
Sundance Acupuncture
For me the seed of oriental culture was introduced to me long ago studying martial arts with a childhood friend. I first experienced Chinese acupuncture and herbal therapies, when I stayed in China, with my multi-linguist father, who was teaching Western culture in a medical school in Suzhou, China. Furthermore, it was in my 30’s when fighting chronic illness, that I became a strong believer in the power of this ancient approach to healing.
Mira's Journey
I grew up as a church organists daughter, in a small town in the hills of Pennsylvania.
My first joy was a house of music, as both of my parents were music teachers. There was not a sibling in the house allowed to be without an instrument in their hand; we were all were required to learn piano. Along with piano, I explored Cello, Guitar, Stand-up Base, but soon fell in love with Classical Voice. Years later, I found myself studying to become an Opera Singer, but chronic illness turned my life upside down, and the universe rewrote my path.
Working with Qi
My Acupuncturist led me to Gi Gong, which lead me to Kung Fu, and learning other Energy Medicine Modalities followed.
I had studied some martial arts a little here and there over the years; but I never stuck with it for long. After finding myself in an acupuncturist’s office, when desperately fighting serious chronic debilitating illness, I was asked to be part of a Qi Gong class to help my healing. I ended up studying with a Kung Fu Group, and took Tai Chi. They got me into newly rising energy medicine modalities. Soon I started studying Ayurveda, and Yoga, and Core Shamanism. I eventually found myself doing a four-year program getting a doctorate in Medical Qi Gong. From there I found Western Herbalism, which eventually lead me towards sitting in Masters of Acupuncture school, a then a Masters of Herbalism school.
