Notes

  1. Raw, this herb removes Stasis but only slightly stops bleeding; it is used for retained placenta, hemorrhoids and prolonged lochia.
  2. For diarrhea in children caused by food poisoning, use it fresh.
  3. The charred form of Lian Fang is the most commonly used, particularly for continuous uterine bleeding, hematuria and bleeding hemorrhoids.
  4. As its effects are mild, it serves as an adjunctive herb.
  5. Charred Lotus Receptacle Lian Fang Tan has a stronger restraining and inhibiting action for stopping bleeding.
