- Qu Mai and Hb. Bian Xu is bitter and descending, entering the Bladder directly to cool Damp-Heat; it is superior for scanty, dark urine that is difficult to pass because of Damp-Heat, and can also be used for Damp-Heat jaundice. Qu Mai supports the function of the Small Intestine to guide Internal Heat outward and is better for burning pain on urination or hematuria from Heat. It also breaks up Blood Stasis and unblocks the channels to treat amenorrhea.
- Aerial Parts of Dianthus Qu Mai Sui are superior at cooling Heat, promoting urination, breaking up Blood Stasis and unblocking the channels.
