Notes

Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Wood nourishes the ligaments and tendons that keep the muscles in place. Think of this point for atrophy or wasting, where growth, rebirth and regeneration are absent. It gives strength and security, and much more: what is involved here is strength of mind and spirit, being held together.

Worsley
  • Worsley names this point, together with GB-24, as an Alarm Point of the Gall Bladder.

Location: In the 4th intercostal space, 1 ACI forward of GB-22.
Needle depth: 5 fen
Moxa: 5 cones

When to Consider
  • When there is no growth, rebirth or regeneration
  • When a person needs strength and security to hold together
  • When there is despondency and despair
  • When a person has lost hope and cannot see anything good coming in the future
  • When there is bitterness, withdrawal from life and a sense of oppression
  • When there is insomnia
  • For clumsiness of body and mind, poor coordination or disorientation; it strengthens and regenerates mind and spirit along with the muscles
