Rx. Platycodi	Jie Geng	2.2-2.4g	Expels Phlegm, benefits the throat, expels pus and opens and raises Lung Qi, directing the effects of other herbs to the upper body. With Gan Cao, for Excess disorders in the Upper Jiao with no disorder in the Lower Jiao. With Gan Cao and Huang Qin, for hoarseness, pain and swelling of the throat due to Wind-Heat. With Bai Zhi, for ulcerated abscess where pus is being discharged slowly.
