Notes

  • This herb is reported to tonify the Spleen and Stomach, transform Stomach Qi, generate fluids, nourish the Blood, ease Interior urgency, relieve abdominal pain, quench thirst, relieve fatigue and stop bleeding caused by Lung Fire.
  • For a foreign object stuck in the throat, slowly swallow small amounts of the thick syrup to help it pass.
  • Yi Tang and Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao both tonify the Qi of the Middle Jiao, ease urgency and relieve pain. Gan Cao resolves toxicity but does not nourish the Blood. It moistens the Lungs to stop cough, yet generates fluids less well than Yi Tang, which produces fluids, particularly in the Lungs, relieves thirst and nourishes the Blood.
