- It is reputed to tonify Yin as well as Yang.
- Research has demonstrated that it inhibits cancer cell growth.
- The substance effectively treats hectic fever from Yin Deficiency, night sweats, lumbago, sore knees, and a frail constitution with seminal emission.
- Zi He Chi and Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum Lu Rong are both powerful supplements that tonify Kidney Yang together with Jing and Blood. Zi He Che is warm without being drying and supplements gradually and harmoniously. It surpasses Lu Rong in augmenting Qi and Blood and is used for Lung, Liver and Kidney Deficiency. Unlike Lu Rong, it also promotes lactation. Lu Rong tonifies Kidney Yang and the Du Channel more strongly and strengthens the sinews and bones.
- Prepared Placenta Zhi Zi He Che tastes less unpleasant and remains stable for longer.
- Wine-fried Placenta Jiu Chao Zi He Che also tastes less unpleasant and is easier to grind into powder.
- For many reasons, human placenta is generally not used; placenta from pigs and cattle is substituted.
- Corda Umbilicalis Hominis Qi Dai is the umbilical cord. It is used for wheezing and night sweats from Kidney Yang and Jing Deficiency, and is frequently decocted in grain-based liquor with Flos Lonicerae Jin Yin Hua and Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao.
