Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Used mostly for the knee, a hinge the Qi must negotiate. On another level it is about taking the next step: if pain or stiffness makes every step a great effort, or we cannot take the next step toward our goals, we may lose all hope that things can change.

Worsley

Location: On the outer leg, in the gap between the femur's lateral condyle and the tibia's lateral condyle.
Needle depth: 5 fen
Moxa: No moxa

When to Consider
  • When there is inflexibility of Mind and Spirit
  • When a person cannot take the next step toward their goals and lives without hope of change
  • When it feels as if nothing is on the person's side
Notes
  • Used locally for knees
