From Class

  • SI-3 + BL-60: Open Du Mai with SI-3 needled strongly (fire), then contralateral BL-60 gently (water); men start left, women right (per Jeffrey Yuen). (Alexander)
  • SI-11 Tianzong / GB-30 Huantiao (gate points): Go-to 'gate' points: SI-11 opens upper extremity, GB-30 lower extremity; used routinely to free qi and blood. (Alexander)
  • BL-40 Weizhong / GB-30 Huantiao (tui na): Press BL-40 (command point for low back, great for acute low back pain) with thumbs; hammer-fist or elbow on GB-30 in muscular patients. (Alexander)
  • GB-30 Huantiao: Ashi at the sit bone found via low-back sinew release; needled bilaterally. (Yuen)
  • GB-44 / GB-30 / GB-34 / GB-39 / BL-11: GB-44 not added without hip treatment; for the hip use GB-30, GB-34 (sinews), GB-39 (bone), BL-11 — then GB-44 might be added. (Yuen)
  • Pelvic 'doors of earth': GB-30, ST-30, BL-40: Release the situation below (Shaoyang, Yangming, Taiyang) — these are also divergent confluent points. (Rabinowitz)
  • Points to return yang (ST-36, LI-4, GB-30): Give the person a burst of yang — to rally out of a bout with death or into their death. (Shea)
  • Nine Needles to Return Yang — as death medicine: Three stages: Separation (Du-15, PC-8, PC-6, SP-6); Transition (KI-1, KI-3, Ren-12); Deliverance (GB-30, ST-36 or ST-37, LI-4), giving yang momentum for passage. (Lewis)
  • Nine Peaks treatment: Builds on the Seven Heavenly Star Prayer: add GB-30 and GB-34 to strengthen yang, or LU-7 and HT-5 to nourish yin and soften the heart; ends at Du-20. (Lewis)
  • Nine Points to Return Yang (soul-summoning, used counterflow): Used counterflow so souls don't separate before business is done: PC-8, PC-6, SP-6, KI-1, KI-3, Ren-12, GB-30, ST-36, LI-4, from Jing to Qi to Shen. (Lewis)
