Location

With the elbow flexed, this point is located 1 cun proximal to SJ-10 Tianjing.

Needling

Perpendicular insertion, 0.5 to 1 cun.
Straight insertion, 1-1.5 cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.

Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point	The point speaks of the Harmonizer's refreshing, cooling side: it gives thermostatic control, heating and cooling alike. 'Abyss' can mean the loneliness and desolation we feel when our Fire is imbalanced. It offers the patient space and freedom and quiets mental agitation, bringing back the clarity of spirit that is so often lost when the Three Heater is out of balance. Like plunging into a cool pool: it cools a person down on any level when things get too hot, and refreshes and stimulates.
Worsley	Ensures our access to the pristine nature of the self. Location: On the middle of the back of the upper arm, 2 ACI above the olecranon. Needle depth: 3 fen Moxa: 3-7 cones
When to Consider	When mental agitation looks almost like insanity When the Fire has run out of control, with one part of the body much hotter than another When the person's inner world has been disturbed and they need peace and quiet When there is heated agitation of body, mind and spirit When warmth has been withdrawn from the uterus and sexual organs in response to betrayal
Notes	Balances SJ-23 Silk Bamboo Hollow, which takes warmth deep within Works two ways: it clears heat and drains Fire, and it rekindles those parts of a person from which the Fire has withdrawn
