Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

This is God's supply house, where we can go to draw from an inexhaustible well; nothing negative ever comes out of it. It is the Earth aspect of the Fire: Fire as love, and the abundance of love, the sense that the world loves me. Being able to draw from Heavenly influence, as we draw from a well what we need to survive, it brings strength, peace, serenity and a stable mind, and helps people reach far down into themselves once they have lost touch with who they are, or with their Heavenly mother or father. It grounds the Fire and leaves a person feeling held and secure, giving security to every Official. Drawing on this well is like bringing food to someone lost in the desert; no one comes to it without receiving what they need. All the Elements arise from and are held within it, and it feeds the Earth that lives inside Fire, with a direct effect on all the other eleven Officials. As the Earth point it reaches far down into the Earth to meet the source of being, and Heaven here is a place anyone can return to when they need it. Bathe here to reconnect with mother and father and with essence.

Worsley

Offers us a sip from Heaven, letting us dip into our divine core and bathe in the restorative power of celestial love.

  • Not to be needled from the 4th month of pregnancy onward

Location: On the back of the upper arm, 1 ACI above the olecranon, a little medial to both the midline and the triceps tendon, in the hollow that appears with the elbow half bent.
Needle depth: 3-5 fen
Moxa: 3-5 cones

When to Consider
  • When someone has no sense of abundance in the world and feels there is nothing for them
  • When a person's emotions are unstable, running either hot or cold
  • When people are unearthed and as children did not receive love as a steady, continuous stream
  • When the spirit is restless and needs security
  • When the person has lost contact with who they are
  • When the Mind and Spirit are ungrounded, weak and unnourished
  • When the person dislikes food, for example when feverish and needing to eat
  • To fill with joy someone who has been through hard times, answering whatever is needed
  • For mental and psychic disturbances
  • When times are hard, like an inner drought; it recharges, revitalizes and replenishes
  • For pain on all levels, especially the emotional reaction to pain
Notes
  • Earth point, Sea point and Sedation point of the Three Heater
  • The Earth point within Fire that works best; a centering point that stabilizes the Fire
  • A point for clarity and beauty that strengthens and reinforces mind and spirit
  • A magnificent point, yet perhaps the body's most neglected one
  • When using the gates that regulate secretions (SJ-2, SI-2), always think of adding this point
  • Celestial Well is the name of a constellation shaped like a well, and also of a courtyard in some styles of Chinese house, so the name was a familiar one to the ancient Chinese
