Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Great Might reminds us that this element's power also lies in decreasing; it concerns cycles and letting go. It is for a mind or spirit that will not let go and denies the power of harvest and return. It is good for revitalizing, lifts depression and supplements energy. It holds the strength of Earth, the strength to carry on until things bear fruit.

Worsley

Location: On the abdomen, 3 ACI from the midline and 2 ACI below the umbilicus level, beside REN-5.
Needle depth: 8-10 fen
Moxa: 5-10 cones

When to Consider
  • When the mind or spirit will not let go and denies the power of harvest and return
  • When a person cannot take things in and move forward
  • When depression needs lifting and energy needs supplementing
  • When the person is tired, weary and downtrodden from giving too much
  • When the person can't digest, keeps churning, can't reap a harvest or let go of old ideas and the past
Notes
  • Revitalizing in a way similar to KI-12
