Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Similar to Eyes Bright: the Water is so pure here that you can see it crystal clear, and things are flowing. The patient can see life in a different way. It opens the door to what really went on when you were a child and helps it to heal. It clears the Kidneys, so everything is crystal clear. It draws heat, fire, warmth and energy down into the lower burner, and affects the mind and spirit. It brings cleanliness and restores a lightness or brightness that has gone missing when the spirit is held down from inside or from outside.

Worsley

Reveals our hidden treasures.

Location: 1½ ACI from the abdominal midline and 4 ACI below the umbilicus level, beside REN-3.
Needle depth: 5-10 fen
Moxa: 5-10 cones

When to Consider
  • To open the door to childhood things they cannot speak of, so they can be discussed; you can see it in their eyes, or you feel it needs to be addressed
  • To find what was so damaging, get to it and heal it; to find stuck energy and heal it
  • For Water Causative Factors (CFs) who need light and enlightenment, who have lost their way
  • When the person is repressed and bowed down
  • With Water CFs, the big question is what will happen once they let go of fear
  • For infertility due to a past history of abortions that were never dealt with emotionally or made peace with
  • With a Water CF who has an unyielding quality, moxa works on the spirit level: it supports letting go and reassures the person they will have whatever is needed to deal with what comes
  • When a Water CF has become self-absorbed in a dark, introspective space, has lost touch with others and grown anxious and worried; it opens them into brightness
Notes
  • Meeting point of the Chong Mai with the Kidney meridian
  • Close to Door of Infants: use with a lot of caution; it may be premature, so do it when they are ready
  • They may cry a lot afterward; ask whether they have made peace with it
  • A 'quasi' Window of the Sky
  • Kidney points can be used on any CF as spirit points, since everything comes from the Kidneys
  • For couples trying to conceive, once things are as balanced as possible, moxa KI-11 on the man and KI-12 or KI-13 on the woman before the most fertile time
