Herb & Acupuncture Database

(This is my own personal database of teachers, teachings and notes that I use in my practice. I’ve decided to share it freely with anyone who would like to reference it.)

Conditions, herb formulas, individual herbs (pinyin and Latin), acupuncture points and essential oils: search by name, Chinese, Latin, English, point code or symptom.

Kidney Channel (KI)

Circuit: Heaven 天 – HT → SI → UB → KI

Organs connected: KI, UB, LIV, LU, HT

Pathway

  1. Starts from the underside of the small toe and crosses the sole of the foot,
  2. comes out along the arch of the foot, circles behind the inner ankle and goes through the heel.
  3. Rises along the medial lower leg to the medial side of the knee crease (crossing: SP-6),
  4. climbs the innermost side of the thigh,
  5. and enters the body near the base of the spine (crossing: DU-1).
  6. This branch links internally with the KI, its own organ,
  7. and with the UB,
  8. then comes back to the surface of the abdomen above the pubic bone and runs up over the abdomen and chest (crossing: REN-3, REN-4).
  9. Another branch starts inside at the KI, rises through the LIV and the diaphragm and enters the LU.
  10. It carries on along the throat and ends at the root of the tongue.
  11. A smaller branch leaves the LU, joins the HT and flows into the chest to link with the PC Meridian.

Crossing Points

SP-6, DU-1, REN-3, REN-4

Kidney Luo

Luo point: KI-4

Pathway

  1. Starts at KI-4 behind the medial malleolus.
  2. Circles the heel and goes inside to link with the UB channel.
