Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

It can serve as a window; the classics list it as one, and it leads straight into a person's middle. Wood has no official Window of the Sky, perhaps because the whole element is about sight, insight and vision. The Gallbladder is a hub where the other eleven Officials come for their decisions and judgments, and this point helps restore perspective and settle the spirit. Supports and encourages the person to move ahead and upward: an opening to growth and heavenly potential.

Worsley
  • Not to be needled from the 4th month of pregnancy onward

Location: On the head, ½ ACI behind GB-8 and 2 ACI inside the natural hairline.
Needle depth: 3 fen
Moxa: 3-5 cones

When to Consider
  • When there is depression of the spirit and a loss of perspective
  • When the Mind and Spirit are too swayed by outside influences, or closed off from them
  • When timidity leaves a person easily frightened
  • When mind and spirit feel toxic and lack vision
  • When there is a lack of coordination
  • As a mental point, when mental activity is too dominant and shapes how a person engages with life
Combinations
  • GB-6 Suspended Regulator and GB-34 Yang Mound Spring with GB-9: for serious disturbance of the mind
Notes
  • Can serve as a Window of the Sky for the Gallbladder
