Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

The highest point on the Three Heater, close to the ear and on the way to the eye. Like a good host, the Three Heater needs to watch and to listen so it can anticipate the needs of others, and the name 'The Grandson at the Angle' links this ability to look ahead with the future. When the Three Heater can reach out warmly, warmth usually comes back and the Heart Protector is nourished; when it cannot, the Heart Protector withers from lack of joy and contact.

Worsley

Tunes us to the ancestors' whispers, filling our hearts with sacred prayer and with instruction for correct living, and inspiring us to live with laughter and joy ringing in our ears.

Location: On the hairline, just above the level of the top (apex) of the ear.
Needle depth: Do not needle
Moxa: 3-7 cones

When to Consider
  • When the spirit needs steadying and brightening, with renewed vitality and clarity
  • When lack of joy, erratic mood swings or unsteady energy have been disturbing the person
  • When the spirit needs to reconnect steadily with Heaven and regain warmth and joy
