Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Heart Protector Correspondence is the inner Associated Effect Point (AEP) of the Heart Protector, which carries messages for the Heart and shields it. When heartbreak, loneliness, sadness or long problems with the Blood wear the protector down, the Heart is left exposed and defenseless. The name reflects how the point relates to the Absolute Yin channels of the Heart Protector and Liver. It strengthens the protector, and so the Heart, and eases sadness and melancholy.

Worsley

Opens to the Heart Protector a direct, immediate and free channel to the energy the Bladder Official holds in reserve, and that store underpins the basic workings of the Circulation-Sex Official.

Location: On the back, 2 ACI from the midline, level with the dip between the T4 and T5 spinous processes.
Needle depth: 1-3 fen
Moxa: 7 cones

When to Consider
  • For agitation and depression felt in the middle of the chest
  • When there is sadness and melancholy
  • When heartbreak, loneliness or sadness have worn down the Heart Protector
  • When mind and spirit feel fragile
  • When there is restlessness and a lack of joy
Notes
  • Inner AEP of the Heart Protector
