Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Heart Correspondence is the inner Associated Effect Point (AEP) of the Heart, a direct line to the Supreme Controller. When heartbreak, emotional distress or weak Blood hit the Heart, control is lost and calm gives way to chaos, anxiety and disorientation, and the warmth and radiance of Fire turn into sadness and despair. It is useful when Command points have brought change that is not yet solid enough; moxa here then helps.

Worsley

Opens to the Heart Official a direct, immediate and free channel to the energy the Bladder Official holds in reserve, and that store underpins the basic workings of the Supreme Controller.

  • Worsley gives it as a First Aid point for heart failure.

Location: On the back, 2 ACI from the midline, level with the dip between the T5 and T6 spinous processes.
Needle depth: 3 fen
Moxa: 3 cones

When to Consider
  • When the Heart has taken a severe whack
  • For a sense of deadness below the heart
  • When heart and head are not coordinated
  • When chaos, anxiety and disorientation have replaced calm
  • When there is sadness, despair and depression
  • When Command point treatment has brought change that is not yet solid
Notes
  • Use with great care
  • Use moxa and needle when the Heart has taken a severe whack
  • Has a special relationship to a Fire Causative Factor (CF)
