Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Foot Bone Yang is used in clearing; it unclogs impurities, clearing toxins from body, mind and spirit. As the Accumulation point of the Yang Heel Vessel, it helps balance Yin and Yang and restore a person's natural rhythms. It also clears the distrust, suspicion and paranoia that come when the Bladder becomes polluted, when a person sees nothing but dinginess and threat instead of the wonder of life.

Worsley

Lets our life make a clear, purposeful physical impact, infused with heavenly presence and inspiration. Our complete happiness and fullest realization rely on this divine spark becoming part of our life and guiding each step we take.

  • Worsley gives it as a First Aid point for food poisoning.

Location: On the posterolateral lower leg, 3 ACI above the level of the lateral malleolus prominence, behind peroneus longus, straight above UB-60.
Needle depth: 5 fen
Moxa: 5-7 cones

When to Consider
  • When body, mind and spirit feel toxic
  • For distrust, suspicion and paranoia
  • When a person sees only dinginess and threat instead of the wonder of life
  • When natural rhythms need restoring
Combinations
  • LI-4 Joining of the Valleys with UB-59: the classic detoxification on any Causative Factor (CF), the strongest points for clearing toxins and poisons from body and mind, especially in mental disorders; an emotional discharge may follow treatment, but calm comes in the end
Notes
  • Accumulation (Xi Cleft) point of the Yang Heel Vessel
  • Worsley listed it as an empirical point for detoxification and food poisoning
  • For a Water CF it plays the part LI-4 plays elsewhere in clearing toxins on all levels
