Notes

Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Receive Light brings light into darkness, into places where a person's mind is imprisoned and tormented. When Water becomes confused or toxic, the whole of body, mind and spirit suffers: the Will and cleverness are corrupted and the spirit is dulled. High on the head, in the bright, heavenly part of the body, this point helps restore the trust that the tunnel has light at its end, and the feeling that we can endure and face the tasks our life sets us.

Worsley

Refers to Heaven's gift of light, which illuminates our world and is available to us unconditionally at all times.

Location: 1.3 ACI from the midline of the head, 1½ ACI behind UB-5.
Needle depth: 3 fen
Moxa: No moxa

When to Consider
  • When a person's mind is imprisoned and tormented
  • For mental disorders, when the person is ready to receive the light
  • When mind and spirit are burdened and full of vexation
  • When someone no longer trusts that the tunnel has light at its end
  • When a person doubts they can endure and take on the tasks of their life
  • When the person is discouraged, despairing or depressed, so overcome by fear that they cannot take in any brightness
Combinations
  • UB-5 Five Places with UB-6: prepares the spirit to receive the light
Notes
  • Spirit level point
  • You must wait until the person is ready to receive light
