Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

The spiritual connection of the spirit inside with the spirit outside. For the Ling spirit, the deepest inner spiritual nature we have, it brings sensitivity and awareness, subtle and receiving. Out of balance, Wood can become harsh in judgment, only able to give orders and unable to receive from Heaven; this point softens that harshness with gentleness and openness to life. It adds spirit to good plans and opens a channel to Heaven. It starts the movement of turning plans into action, so decisions and plans can be spoken from the deepest core.

Worsley

Location: On the head, 1½ ACI behind GB-17.
Needle depth: Do not needle
Moxa: 5 cones

When to Consider
  • When a person has become harsh in judgment and can only give orders
  • When Wood is strained, has lost its elasticity and feels besieged by life
  • When someone needs a moment out of the rush of life to find a calm place
  • When the mind and spirit need to be reestablished and steadied
  • When there is obsessional thought
  • For hopelessness, when the spirit is flat and not connected to Heaven; it reaches directly to the Gallbladder's spirit
Notes
  • A very important point for connecting the spirit within with the universal spirit
  • It lies at what the ancient Chinese named the lid of the Celestial Spirit
