Notes

Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Official Residence is about someone residing in themselves, having that home. It gives a home to the Official of transformation and transportation, a place that supports its work, where exchanges can happen peacefully. It can bring a restless person who is always looking outward back to a calm, centered ease. As the home that stabilizes the Spleen, it concerns being a person in one's own right rather than living through others. A storehouse and treasury, a seat of authority and importance, it brings the spirit home to receive nourishment.

Worsley

Location: On the abdomen, 4 ACI from the midline and 3 ACI below the umbilicus level, beside REN-4.
Needle depth: 7 fen
Moxa: 5-10 cones

When to Consider
  • When someone needs to reside in themselves and have that home
  • When someone is always looking outward and is restless
  • When overthinking and overwork have exhausted the Spleen, and the person is wrung out and strung out with no reward for all they have given
  • When the person seems like a lost child looking for help
  • When a person is scatty, chatty and hyperactive: the home of the Official calms them and simply allows them to be
  • When someone has not established themselves in themselves, perhaps after moving a lot, and needs a home created around them
  • When the spirit is not at home and the person is scattered, unstable, lacking inner calm or contentment
Combinations
  • SP-14 Abdomen Knot with SP-13: for the person who has overextended themselves and is wrung out
  • SP-14 Abdomen Knot with SP-13: when a person is knotted up in body, mind and spirit, with a barren spirit and no harvest, in a tangle they cannot see their way out of
