Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Branch Opening opens what is blocked, so things can descend as they should. On the mental level, thoughts often get in the way of taking in and receiving, and this point helps them pass on through the mind. Like a tree that stands tall, spreading and welcoming all life, its branches are open and receptive, ready to give, to receive and to spread.

Worsley

Location: On the front of the lower leg, outside the edge of the tibia, 8 ACI above the level of the lateral malleolus prominence.
Needle depth: 5 fen
Moxa: 3-7 cones

When to Consider
  • When you are not sure which level the Stomach needs treating on; it can serve as a non-specific Command point that enriches
Notes
  • Another route for getting energy into the Official
  • When this branch opening is closed the Stomach Qi suffers, and opening the point makes a blocked Stomach pulse rise right away
