Notes

  • This is the pre-eminent local point for the treatment of pain of the forehead.
  • This is also a major point for treating diseases of the eyes and eyelids.
  • It is frequently used to eliminate Exterior Wind to treat facial paralysis.
  • If the patient cannot form ridges on the forehead by raising the eyebrows, this point should be needled on the affected side.

Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Good for Wood people who are simply muddled: it gives a real kick. Some thought is needed before deciding, but endless thought leads to inertia; this point moves the Gallbladder on to the next step. When a person never gets to give birth to projects, or never feels Spring in their life, they may turn sour and cynical. White links the point with Metal, with discernment and good judgment.

Worsley

Location: On the forehead, 1 ACI above the supra-orbital notch (found at the middle of the eyebrow).
Needle depth: 2 fen
Moxa: 3 cones

When to Consider
  • When the patient has already made a decision but it just needs firming up
  • When body, mind and spirit need galvanizing into action to push through indecision
  • When too much reflection has turned into inertia
  • When a person has become sour and cynical from never feeling a Spring in their life
Notes
  • Good for a Wood Causative Factor (CF) in a muddle
