Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Small Intestine Correspondence supports the Official who sorts the pure from the impure, so we can take what is good from a situation and see things clearly. When this Official is out of balance, thinking gets muddled, communication loses its rhythm, and frustration can come out as sharp remarks. It also helps keep things clear around the Heart.

Worsley

Opens to the Small Intestine Official a direct, immediate and free channel to the energy the Bladder Official holds in reserve, and that store underpins the basic workings of the Official who Separates the Pure from the Impure.

Location: 2½ ACI from the midline over the sacrum, level with the 1st sacral foramen, on the line of the sacroiliac joint.
Needle depth: 8-10 fen
Moxa: 7-20 cones

When to Consider
  • When a person has trouble separating, concentrating on and distinguishing information
  • When there is muddled thinking that others cannot follow
  • When frustration at not being understood turns into irritation
  • When someone fusses over one thing and overlooks everything else
Notes
  • Inner Associated Effect Point (AEP) of the Small Intestine
