Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Bridge Gate is where you arrive once you have passed through the gates: unity, harmony and peace. It is wonderful for someone whose mind moves forward while the body or emotions stay stuck behind, with a sense of disjointedness, of being fractured. Earth governs the transitions between seasons, and this point helps a person bring body, mind and spirit together through a time of transition.

Worsley

Location: On the abdomen, 3 ACI from the midline and 4 ACI above the umbilicus level, beside REN-12.
Needle depth: 7 fen
Moxa: 5-15 cones

When to Consider
  • When someone's mind is moving forward while the body or emotions stay stuck behind
  • When a person feels disjointed or fractured
  • When a person in transition feels erratic and edgy with nervous tension
  • When someone keeps stopping and starting, or is blocked from clear thought and action
  • When fullness sticks and will not move, and no nourishment is getting inside; the gate may need opening
  • When the person is stuck at the gate, ready for the next step of a transition: they can see beyond but access is denied
  • When the person is unable to communicate
Combinations
  • ST-21 works well with ST-22 Border Gate and ST-24 Lubrication Food Gate
Notes
  • A doorway linking the upper and lower burners
