- For Food Retention, compare ST-44 with Inner Neiting.
Five Elements Spirit Perspective
| Spirit of the Point | Inner Courtyard is the Water point, for someone who dislikes pain. It is good for anxiety and fear around symptoms, particularly when the fear far outweighs the pain: 'What is it, what's causing it?' The Stomach needs moisture and the Spleen needs dryness; Earth needs fluid Yin properties so it does not overreact to something. It is for someone who will not go outside and shuts the world away; this lets them feel safe, and their inner world gets stronger so they can go out. A filling, settling point, it lets a person fill their own inner space from within, going inside to be deeply nourished where all is still, somewhere peaceful and comfortable. It brings Water's quiet stillness to a busy mind that has become hard, dry, barren and unreceptive. It lets in close and dear friends who really listen and empathize: a quiet, contemplative place that calms a restless, distrustful mind and helps the person find compassion and let people in. Gentler than ST-9. |
