Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Jing means capital, large, big, source or origin, and Gu means bone. As the Source point, Capital Bone carries the essence of what Water is about. It is an emblem of containment: it nourishes, supplies fluids and holds power, anchoring the Official in itself so one can contain oneself. As a Source point it can make things move or calm things down with the water; it always does the right action. It has a Yin quality, the Jing that gathers and holds on to things. Water nourishes the bone, the center of activity.

Worsley

Gives us an exalted source of core strength, movement and calm. Capital cities, lively places where resources are exchanged, offer the chance to fill our reserves, while bone and marrow give us structure and also hold reservoirs of ancestral memory.

Location: On the outer edge of the foot, just beyond (distal to) the tuberosity of the 5th metatarsal.
Needle depth: 3-5 fen
Moxa: 3-7 cones

When to Consider
  • To support people who need to understand their endurance, ambition and determination
  • For a Bladder Causative Factor (CF) who overextends themselves too much and is overwhelmed and exhausted from it
  • When fear is rising and agitation, suspicion or mental rigidity are growing
  • When a person needs to be steadied, soothed and rooted
  • When there is no wish to eat or drink
Notes
  • Source point of the Bladder
  • Does whatever is called for, calming or bringing movement
  • First aid point for bee stings
