Five Elements Spirit Perspective

Spirit of the Point

Sea of Blood is for when life, blood and energy are all missing. Think of this point for anything to do with the Blood itself, since it helps the transformation of Blood. It revitalizes, re-energizes and reawakens. Blood also warms and gives the spirit somewhere to rest, so without it a person can become cold, isolated and inflexible, and struggle to see things the way someone else sees them. It speaks of warmth, vitality and richness.

Worsley

Location: On the anteromedial thigh, roughly 3 ACI above the knee flexure, mid-belly of vastus medialis. Palpate the medial border of the femoral shaft and slide distally until it meets the medial femoral condyle; the point is in the deep hollow above and behind that junction.
Needle depth: 3-5 fen
Moxa: 3-10 cones

When to Consider
  • When life, blood and energy are all missing
  • When there is mental coldness: rejection, withdrawal
  • When thinking and imagination have become inert and inflexible
  • When mental agitation and worry are depleting the person
Notes
  • Helps the transformation of Blood
